How it works

  1. Pick the apps that eat your time. Single apps only, chosen with Apple’s own Screen Time picker.
  2. Open one, and Detour steps in. A pause screen appears before the feed does.
  3. Take a one-minute reset. Pop bubbles, drop marbles, or follow a breathing circle. It always ends.
  4. Then decide. Walk away, or open it for 10 minutes of use. You’re never locked out.

Never a lockout

Detour asks; it doesn’t forbid. “Open anyway” is always one tap away, so you won’t delete it in a week.

Something to do, not a lecture

The reach is usually for a bit of stimulation. A minute of popping gives your hands that, and then it’s over.
